Tajikistan locates in Central Asia. In the east boards with China, in the west and north with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, in the south with Afghanistan. It’s territory is larger than 143,100 sq km (55,213 sq miles). And it’s population in 2003 was 6,2 million: men - 49,8%, women - 50,2%, an urban population - 26,6%, the rural area - 74,4% (UN, 2003).
